Education should be accessible for everyone regardless of their social or geographical origin. Limited funds cannot be a reason to deny access to education. Admission restriction, cutback of subsidies such as the “Familienbehilfe” and tuition fees are not acceptable.
The StEOP shows the risk of being socially selective and to miss the true meaning of a study orientation – that’s why we believe it shall be critically evaluated. We see a seminal orientation phase and adequate counseling before and while studying as a necessity.
Furthermore we stand for accessible and student-friendly curricula, the full financing of universities and their autonomy. Only an education that is free from political and economic leverage can assure critical and ethical research – sole and nontransparent third party funding are not the correct way.
